  • Is clutch judder serious?

Clutch has started juddering when taking off (worse when on a hill, but ok when in 4wd).Does this mean my clutch is on the way out? Will it be expensive to fix(3rd gen)?I know manual transmission Surfs are rare,I'm hoping someone out there can give me some pointers.Cheers.

Usually a sign the flywheel needs resurfacing or clutch plate could be failing, or if is like older Surfs, you'll have rubber shock bushes instead of springs in the clutch plate to soften the clutch take up. My V8 used to munch these bushes in a couple of months, leading to a juddering clutch.

Bleed the clutch hydrolics, to make sure it hasn't got any air in it, and is 'bouncing' when under pressure.

dunno if the 3rd gen has a two piece flywheel like 2nd gens, this also has springs in it that fail in time.

Anything in the clutch is a big job, I'd leave it if its bearable, and see if it gets worse in time.

Your truck is a little new for anything to drastic, unless its worked hard or your unlucky!
