  • Ready for winter...

’92 SSR-X 2.4 TD heading to Switzerland for the winter. All work to be done in the next week and then driven in the UK for 3 weeks before a 650 mile trip to Verbier. Once in Verbier temperature extremes will run from –20C (avg min -15C) to 20C (max avg 10C), the majority of the 5 months will be –10C – 10C. The drive it 650 miles home.

I have no real service history for this car so I’m looking at a DIY full service. I have the Haynes manual (is it any good?) and the search function.

    I’m planning:

    New oil, and filter.
    New air filter
    New engine coolant
    Grease everything I can

Then I’ll do the relevant checks described in Haynes, battery, hoses etc…

    What else would you do???

I've found the oil chart but can't decide on which grade. 10W-30? (what is 20? should I use this?)

    Thanks for the help.
