        Marky,

I plan to fit a rear heater to a 3.0 ssrv which doesn't have one. I have sourced the heater itself (matrix and blower unit) and the console. (the original console is different).

I now need the complete set of coolant pipes which run beneath the vehicle and connect to the main coolant pipes in the engine bay.

What I'm after is assistance from anyone who has done this or/and help in sourcing the items.

        phil

I've no rear heating either Boxertwin and like what you're thinking. Sounds like a car breakers yard for definite on this one. You'd spend a fortune at a main dealer for stuff like hoses etc. Most surfs have this rear heating (from what I have gathered?) so maybe you could rip the parts out of a write off ???

Its just finding a 3.0L TD in a breakers ! The metal pipes are formed to shape and are a single run (both of them) plus brackets. Then there are tee pieces to join the main coolant pipes. Easy job (!!), its just getting hold of the pipes and connectors.

                      Jim,

sorry I missed your p.s. Its quite possible, a few people have suggested Cork although I know my grandads family came from Dublin and at some point but moved to Liverpool (my home town).

My wifes family are mainly Kerry folk.

Silverlake autosalvage(01489 782537) in shedford near southampton(sort of) had one in. They have definately got a 2.4 in but couldn't tell you if its got a heater in it. Only thing about them is that they can be a bit pricey.

                            pipes

Don't use old pipes - use copper pipe and protect it with shrink wrap or decent stone chip paint

I thought about doing this conversion before on a 3rd gen (you didn't specify)

There is also a fan switch up front, and the floor carpet is a different shape.

I kind of lost interest because it got warmer again... but I've always hated how you are melting at the front, and the back is cold!

Not such an issue now I have remote start

I'd be interested to see how you get on! I've heard that the pipes can suffer from corrosion...
