Stopping Black Smoke

Hi guys,

Whats the best way to stop plumes of black smoke being kicked out when I put my foot down and really p***ing off the drivers behind me? I've seen some things on ebay but I'm not convinced. Here is a link for 1 of the things found...What do you guys think?

OK, do a search on here for EGR mod, and you should have all the answers you need. The idiots 'selling' that info on ebay are just telling you to do exactly the same thing.

Don't start them off with the Ebay add again. Do a search for EGR valve.
All you need is either a cable tie, (quick method), or to make a blanking plate.
Also, dump a bottle of redex in the tank and, to paraphrase, drive it like you
stole it.

Daft question but should there be an instant result after removing the pipe????

Did mine last night and it started belchin out whitish smoke.........bottled it on the way home and put it back on - now its black again.

ASWELL????? I took the pipe off and blocked it - should I have done summat to the thing I took the pipe off???? Am I gonna look really dumb now. I followed the instructions of here that had the pic of the one to cable tie.

no thats ok as long as it was blocked or tied it should be ok.Try putting a bottle of redex in the tank and give the truck a good blast also and see if that helps
