Annoying rattle from both sides of front.

Hi all,
My surf has had this rattle for quite a while now, it only happens in two wheel drive, is always there and driving me mad!
I've put it into a garage who've charged me an hours labour and said its coming from the hubs (Nooo, really?), so basically a waste of time and money.
Any advice is most welcome, looking on here it seems that the bushes may be at fault, but tempted to just replace the hubs and sort it once and for all before i sell the bugger.
Oh and has anyone recently sold a 95 3rd gen surf in black, i'd be very interested to hear how much you've got for it. Cheers Russ

Well I had a very annoying rattle from offside hub till recently too. Checked all sorts of things and could'nt find it - drove me mad for ages .

Then, thanks to this forum I identified the culprit. My 2nd gen has two bronze bushes in each hub. Being bronze and therefore soft, they wear which then lets the drive axle rattle about..... Its the larger, inner bush that seems to wear most, but if you're changing them I would suggest doing both.

Roughtrax and Milners sell them - got mine from Roughtrax as there not far from here...

Its the hub bushes, and its not a big deal, a few hours labour and about £80 in parts if you do all 4 bushes.
