If you're buying from a registered producer and supplier, it's the same as
buying normal diesel at the pump. If you wish to be cautious, just keep your
receipts as proof of purchase.
With regards to biodiesel, the engine should run fine on it. Only two things to
note as such. First, have a spare fuel filter at hand, as the biodiesel will clean
all the gunge from your tank and fuel lines, which will end up in the filter. Just
replace the filter after a few tanks of biodiesel, and you should then be back
to normal. Secondly, it *may* cause slight leaking from the fuel pump if your
seals are borderline. This would show up eventually, regardless. It's only the
top seals that generally tend to leak. The seal kit costs under a tenner, so no
biggie if it does. (Other than fitting the devils ).

hi yes i found out about the seals apparentley it can persih any rubber pipes and seals after a while we just had a leak and had our fuel pump seals replaced and know they are made from rubber but shouldnt wear for a long time now im just on two minds about using a company who supplies it as they obviousley have to make a profit too?i was reading my nfu magazine earlier and they said in there that ford are now working on producing vehicles that will run of biofuel and that fuel companies should be taking it on board because its so enviromentally freindly.would there be a lot of paper work envolved if i was to register with the gov myself for using it?and would using a company who already does all that save me the hassle, going to have a good read up on it all nopw i have 5 minutes too.thanks for the advice if i do start to use the company i will keep receipts just incase

The registration and paperwork are, as far as I know, fairly straight
forward. However, the problem with biodiesel is, for most people,
the processing required to create biodiesel from SVO/WVO. It involves
handling and using dangerous chemicals. Also, if your quality control
lapses at any time, you can end up with a fuel that is not exactly
beneficial to your engines well being. For some further info:

This page is regarding SVO, but also has links for the biodiesel side of
things. One thing to note, this website is biased towards biodiesel, so take
some of what they say with a pinch of salt. Their technical info is, however,
good.
