Squealing Sound - Please Help

Hi Everybody,

I am experiencing a VERY distressing sound on my 95 3.0 TD Surf and I am hoping someone can help me diagnos the problem.

It sounds like a very loud SQUEAL which gets louder as press the accelerator but it only happens when the air conditioner is on. The problem does not happen all of the time, seems to be random but VERY annoying.

Sounds like your air con compressor drive belt is slipping. If you slightly loosen teh bolt that runs from front to back and then tighten the adjuster bolt that is at the lower front. The adjuster bolt is at a right angle to the other one.

Or it could be the idler pulley bearing. More likely just slipping tho'

Possibly a dry or failing bearing on the air con compressor?
