  • Clearing the Rad

Bit of an ongoing issue this, apologies to those who are getting bored.

Can't get to all the rad to clean the mud out, so will need to take the radiator out of the engine bay to do the job properly. (I'm assuming there's still crud blokcing the airflow as it overheats under load, not at tickover or light throttle, cools down again when load removed and isn't using any water).

Are there any nasty surpises waiting for me when I try to remove the rad, or is it just a case of removing top and bottom hoses and easing out some well-WD40'd bolts?

The bolts will be fine, unless you've been dunking it salt water

But removal on a 3.0 is pretty easy, remove the bash plate, unclip the lower half of the fan shrould, remove the hoses and ATF cooler pipes (plug the pipes with drill bits or bolts to stop the ATF fluid running out) and pull the rad out.
