Steering loose
Hi all knowing all seeing internet people,
can anyone advise of similar symptoms. I have a bit of steering play, about 1 1/2" on the steering wheel before the steering box output does anything. I also find when driving along I seem to get quite a bit of rattle felt on the wheel, which I assume is cos of the free play. There does not appear to be any sideways movement on the idler or pitman arms, I have noticed some oil on the steering damper though. So could I be right in thinking the steering box has worn components and the damper is goosed.
