Kickdown Problem

I have a 2L auto G reg surf and the kick down is playing up, when you accelerate along the motorway on the flat ie: to overtake a lorry, its changing down on its own without the use of the kick down. Has anyone any ideas please, before I burn my surf out! Thanks Becksi

Need a few more details? are you sure its just not working properly, does it change up again when you back off the throttle, what sort of revs are we talking about when its changing down. The kick down cable is next to the throttle cable, you could try adjusting it so it take more throttle pressure to work it, but I don't know how much is ECU controlled, or how much is just the cable/throttle position.
