  • Loss of Power

Wonder if anyone could point the way!

Coming to work this morning had sudden loss of power under acceleration.
Already doing about 60-65 and put the foot down, turbo kicked in and then suddenly needle on rev counter dropped and vehicle slowed down. Put foot down again , same thing and then the Engine Light appeared. Backed off and light went out. Took it easy to work.

Went out dinner time and floored it several times up and down the motorway. Did not occur again!

    I have two thoughts

    1. Air getting in the system somewhere [Fuel filter changed over two weeks ago though, so o-ring or line [but no loss of fuel]

    2. EGR Valve possibly stuck open letting too much combustion back into the engine.

    Dirt in the fuel possibly?

It sounds fuel related, possibly the fuel shut off solenoid or accociated electrics?
      Fuel pump or pump timing?
Did you notice white exhaust smoke before the engine died?, as air in the fuel will cause this.
Maybe boost problem, sensor on inlet manifold?

Gonna take the fuel filter off tonight and re-prime. Was off-roading at weekend so other thought was rubbish settled in tank got through to filter and blocked.
