  • Clicking from behind dash

I've seen a couple of posts on this but no colclusions.

A couple of weeks ago my dash starts clicking. Only seems to do it when I'm moving and "seems" to only ocure over 30 MPH - and its loud especially with the radio off. Seems totally random, but like morse code. Happens when I'm going stright, round bends, smooth or rough ground - but seems to be only when I'm moving.

Now I dont know if this is related, but I've also noticed that my steering-wheel makes a running sound when it's cold - almost like theres a bearing on the steering column that needs a good lube.

    Anybody have any ideas ?

    Thanks,
    Joe

Check the plastic steering column surround, they often rub on the back of the wheel.

Could it be a solenoid of somekind rather than mechanical?

I started hearing odd clicks as well, and my new radio, just installed, started powering itself off to the sound of the clicks. The system is plugged in to the existing radio looms, via adapters.

        The more I listen, the more I'm convinced it's a relay/solenoid.
It often does it when I'm trundling down the m/way for example - just starts up all random.
Right now, it dosn't seem to be causing any problems - except for the irritation factor, so I'll leave it till warmer weather.
Then, off comes the dash. Wish I had a garage I could get a car in :-(
