  • Fitted my roller blind today

Finally got to fit my roller blind for the cargo area today.I previously got the blind thru ebay, and later sourced the required fittings the same way.

Fitting was very straightforward, once the side panels were removed, there were clearly marked dotted lines showing where they needed to be cut to allow mounting of the fittings. Cut them out, refitted the panels, the roller blind fittings and blind. Job done, total time was about an hour from start to finish.

Finally, some security for the junk in the back.

So do you mean that the side panels had no mounting points and you cut out the openings to allow you to bolt up the holder to the body?

Wouldn't mind getting the cover myself, might start browsing around on eBay (the money pit)

I'll have a look at the blind on Sunday Maurice...... Good work.

Correct, had to cut the holes, but as I said it was quite easy. It was a bit daunting, wondering how I was going to accuratly cut the holes to line up with the mounts etc but once the panels were off and the 'cut around the dotted line' became apparent, the job became a doddle.

I will have to whip of the panels at the wekend so and have a look. I suppose the typical crappy toyota clips will break as I take it off.
Did you have any hassle with customs with the roller?

This is off topic sorry but, do you think I would have hassle if I was getting a crate with 5 alloys from the states. I am just wondering if I would be hit with a big for vat etc.

No clips broke on me, no hassle with customs. Guaranteed customs interference on the alloys, thay caught me on a Daystar lift kit for around €40.

roller blind on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2446136630 sure the're plenty more, just one I noticed.

Most us rollers are tan (so's mine) so some vinylkote or similar would be required if you're fussy, personally I'll make do for the moment

If you are looking for a rear cargo cover, i think it was bob hilux that had some, 2nd hand, for sale in a previous thread, at what seemed to be a good price, you could always pm him to ask. I,m sure he,ll be more than helpful even if hasn,t got any for sale at the moment.

Can't be certain, but I think all his were for the 2nd Gen model, too narrow for a 3rd Gen
