  • Fitting 265/75 R 15 tyres possible?

    Hi guys,
today I had to replace my tyres and as I am living in Mozambique, it was impossible to get the original sized 265/70 R 15 ones, only 265/75 R 15. So I fitted them on the same 15 inch rim, of course they are a bit higher and also wider now than the chassis (Why the hell is that, shouldn´t be all 265s of the same width???) Anyway, the car handling is now a bit different, of course. The steering appears to be a bit more, well, shaky, or responsive, not to say slightly unstable. Might be just the change of the wheeltype, as the old one were M+S tyres (too soft for Africa), the new ones are grade 6 sand tyres.
The main question is: Does anybody have some experience with 265/75 sizes? Will it have maybe negative effects on the car?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi Mathais
Wouldnt have thought the extra 5% on the profile would have made a great difference. More likely to be the tyre type thats making the difference. Have you tried experimenting with tyre pressures?
