  • starting problems, HELP!!!

    hi, can anyone help!!!
Had my 3.0 hilux since last year and love it, but now having probs with starting.. Turn the key and just get clicking, seen an answer before on your forum but cant find it now..
I know it is not the starter motor cos doesn't happen all the time

It probably is the starter motor on it's way out....if the problem is intermittent. I had the same on mine about 4-5 months ago...apparently it's the contacts inside the motor are worn. Cost me £38 nto repair with a local guy who repairs and reconditions starters and alternators...HTH

BTW you posted this thread in the Jokes section...

        Moved it for you.

Its a pretty staight forward fix, If you don't want to DIY it let me know, I can sort it out reasonably quickly and for not much £££'s, and you're not far away.

Unfortunately it sounds as if your starter moter IS the problem, or at least the solonoid which flicks over the drive teeth which is part of it. The only other thing I can think of is a loose conection here so you don't get full current. Try tightening all associated leads, then is off to autoparts!

Best of luck I hope its the 'cheepest' option. Buckinghamjon.
