  • Rear Aircon??

My 95 M Plate SSR-x Ltd 3.0 has a large square fan unit and light cluster on the roof in the rear of the car.

Does this mean that it has aircon in the back?

If so, does anyone know if that then increases the amount of aircon gas required?

I had it re-gassed with 750grammes, but if were similar to a landcruiser with rear aircon, that requires 1500grammes!!!!!!!

I`ve asked Toyota, they were worse than useless.

I`m sure Ive previously read a thread where someone mentions this fan/light box and that it indicates a bigger aircon system, but of course I cant find the bl- - dy thread now!!!

This is what I thought as well, so the unit does not cool the air and does not use any aircon gas.

no it is a sperate system from the aircon and does not need gas it,s just another fancy jap gizmo good if you suffer from hayfever though as it does filter the air very well

i think its only the land cruisers that have rear aircon and need 1500gms to re charge.
