I bought a 2 and half ton halfruads jack - are you saying that it wont lift it? Or shouldnt I go under it?

bit nervous now.. was planning to jack it up an put on axle mounts.

BTW whereabouts on the underside is it safe to jack it up? at which point?

(having said that, done 23,000 klicks in a year and only changed a wiper blade so far, apart from local garage doing oil changes for me)

      Cheers

It'll be OK, the surf weighs 2 tons roughly, your not lifting the whole car, just one end at the time!!!

I'd jack under the rear diff to lift the whole rear end, or each end of the rear axle and do one corner at a time if your worried. stands can go under the rear axle, or if they are tall enough under the rear chassis, just in front of lower four link brackets.

The front you can do in the middle again, on the crossmember under the diff, or at each end of it. Axle stands can go on the frame near the antiroll bar mounts, or each end of the front crossmember.
