3rd gen ringing noise

I had a similar noise, it was the UJ joint on the front of the rear prop, changed it and the tinging noise was gone. Also I have just has a very similar noise but with the engine speed, not the running gear, have just found out today that it is my air con belt, it has started to break apart and is hitting the idler and makeing a pinging sound.

I have a very near engine failure at high speen last week on the A34 just up from Newbury.
Had a bangging flapping noise from the engine then another and then another about 3 secs apart in all.
All the dash lights come on then the temp gauge went sky high.
lucky there was a garage 300 yards away to pull in to, I opened the bonnet and picked out whats left of a fan belt then noticed i had no fan belts what so ever left. DOH.....
Alt inner belt took out the other alt belt and then they took out the aircon belt.
Thank you AA man who ever your are.
2 hrs later and 3 new belts we were on our way.
On the same trip i had a blow out on the trailer AA rescue again, what a trip.

hi i have this noise when the SSRG is in motion, its not comming from the engine or the breakes, it only does it above 10 mph sounds like a "triangle" being dragged along the ground and it increases with road speed also when i hit a bump it does change a bit.
HELP PLEASE IT'S DRIVING ME NUTS

Mine does exactly the same & has been for about a year & it drives me nuts too.

There seems to be a lot of similar complaints with 3rd Gens on www.yotatech.com but after much searching I can't seem to find the answer.

Well, I take it thats the end of the suggestions of possible causes to this 3rd Gen problem.....as once again we have gone off topic with the Vidal Sassoon jokes.
