I had to replace my idler arm bushes the other day to get my WOF.
Dead easy job too!!
I disconnected the idler arm from the steering arm
Removed the cover and top nut
Pulled the idler shaft out and fitted new bushes and grease
Poked it back did up the joints
Done!!
1 hr out and in , hands clean and coffee made…….It was a bit early for a beer!!!
Only problem I encountered was that the bushes are for a post ’91 hilux/surf
So I guess that at some point in its life the idler had been replaced.
Luckily I had the forethought to get both stets of bushes from Repco and take back the ones that did not fit.
