  • de-rusting me bits

    hi gang..

my rig has been in the uk for nearly a couple of years now, and although still fairly clean underneath, the rear axle up to and including the ends where it bolts onto the wheel looks to have suffered from the weather a bit..it looks as though it needs a good wire brushing or sanding to clean it up, but i'm not sure whether to hammerite it or spray/brush some waxoil on..any other options on the market.

is this a common place for the tarnish to start on surfs, as it looks disproportionatly bad in that area..everything else, apart from the front wishbones and some 6 inches of front chassis section looks pretty clean..

Check all the insides of your bumpers, especially the rear corners, also the tube that holds the side steps on rusts. It has little drain holes on each bit of tube, rinse these out with waxoyl.

Also make sure all the drain holes in the tailgate and doors are clear, then spray inside the doors (do it with the windows up!!! )
