  • Help with tracking please....

I'm about to tackle the tracking on my Smurf, well I'm not, someone else is. They have asked me to 'loosen my nuts' before I go down! Sounds dodgy to me! Anyway, can anyone produce a pic / diagram of where these blighters are please? The garage bloke said that heating them is best and seeing that all I have is a box of matches I suspect it'll take me a long, long time! So it's out with a can of penetrating spray!

    Many thanks...

Heh our threads are running in parallel yet we have similar problems by the sounds of things...
As far as I know... "your not sposed to head up the track rod adjusters" according to my garage... as it can cause damage / problems in the future.

I have the problem that my nuts wont loosen!!

if you look at the front suspension above the bump stops and you will see a connecting rod, with a nut on each end, the track rod itself is also threaded near where the nuts are.... which is how you adjust it.
The idea is you loosen the nuts then twist the whole adjuster bar which adjusts your tracking...
