Greasing prop shaft

Hi there, just after a bit of advice please.
I greased the prop shaft nipples on my 3rd gen and when I was applying the grease using a gun I was pumping and then heard a crackling sort of noise so I stopped. Just wondered if I’ve put too much grease in or is that normal to hear that noise.
I’d appreciate any advice please, Rob.

That's normal I get the same thing.
