Hi Peeps.
had my surf for a few months now but over the last week or so it has chucked out black smoke on start up and is a bit rough on tickover for about 30 secs. I have never used the glow plugs, in fact when I switch on and turn the key for any light to come on for the glow plugs, theres no light visible. She starts up o.k. I have been on the threads to try and find out the cause of the black smoke but there is a lot of different reasons. I remember reading somewhere on one of the forums that cleaning inside of the manifolds/turbo etc. helps out a lot. After the initial cloud of black smoke she runs spot on. Am I being fussy over the smoking problem and if left could engine damage happen.
