  • renewing pads

    hi

I am looking for a relevant thread to tell me the process for renewing my brake pads.
i'm a little confused cos all the hoses are ridgid thus probably not allowing any movement when the bolts are undone.

any info will be greatfully recieved.

    cheers

If you want to remove calipers then you will need to disconnect the brake line an plug the end to prevent leakage.A couple of rubber caps used for capping vacuum lines are ideal.

You don't need to remove the calipers to change the pads. You remove the spring that retains the two pins, drive the pins out that hold the pads in then the pads slide out. The pins will probably have to be driven out with a punch and the pads will probably need a bit of wriggling but it should be a fairly simple job.
