  • confused??

Here's the problem, all the warning lights on the dash are coming on as they are supposed to do when the key is in the ignition, but they are not going out once the engine starts? they are all flickering in tune to the engine it self. plus now when the head lights are switched on the pitch you get when the key is left in the ignition for too long comes on? now i know it must be a short somewhere, but where do i start looking?

    Help

    cheers in advance G

Have you been playing in the water recently? As such symptoms (sp) can occur if your alternator gets a good ducking.
Either way, often points to wet or failing alternator, check all alternator leads for fit and security at both ends.

      found it!!!!

It seems the main wire running to the back of the altenator is corroded!? For some reason it was causing a slight short? all i have to do now is try and re-connect the thing!

Well at least if anyone else has the same problem they know where to look.

Hardly applicable in this case where the query is not, IMHO, a FAQ.

Where people are asking something frequently or recently covered, I feel its best to point them towards the FAQ and search facilities for the reasons I pointed out here.

Where someone has a query, comment etc which does not fall into the above category, I’ll happily offer what assistance I can, if I feel I can make a positive contribution to the topic in question.
