Also, an installed car system picks up your speedo pulses and has a gyro-scope which it uses to track your position. This means that it responds more quickly and will not get confused if you are in a tunnel or covered car park.
I use Tom Tom 3 on an ipaq and it's brilliant. There is an add-on to do postcodes, if you need it, on this link. Having to put it away, out of site all the time is a pain, though.

Hi i have been looking at this and have a sony p800 which is supported, the trafcam that you mentioned is for speed cameras and at present not for sat nav. The other one that works is one called wayfinder and can be bought for £180 but you need a mobile on contract i think that your location is gps and the database is downloaded via gprs i might be wrong. Also the other problem with the present generation phones is that both will not run at the same time Probally better off you want both and the money is to buy a system using pocket pc2003 either as a package or if you have one already a gps bluetooth/cable receiver for about £120 and get the software.
