  • New Q ! - How to fit Cark91 to KZN130 ?

Just got a nokia Cark 91 handsfree kit from ebay and have queries as to how to fit the electrics.

The Lux has the Orig Stereo / head unit and so first Q is has it got a mute function for the yellow wire of the handsfree power unit ? if not how does one sort it out so that the stereo mutes on incoming call ?

Also for the ignition sense, is it sufficient to connect to a 12 V on the stereo head unit or must it be from the ignition barrel ?

The handsfree i rceived has 2 sets of block connectors. one having marked wires for rear left front left etc but perhaps its from the old car it was fitted to ?

    Any help greatfully recieved !

    cheers.

    Ron.

I have fitted this model to mine. According to the manual on page 5 you can mute any radio by inderting a relay. as for the speaker connections they don't sound right.

Hopefully I've attached copies of the pages that I used to fit mine, if not email me at d.hysted@btinternet.com cause I know how to send pictures that way.

hi I just fitted a nokia car kit to my Surf.
Phone cradle went to the right of the air conditioning knob (3 screws securing over corner of fascia), the plugin box went above the drivers left foot area, and the window aerial and mic went by the interior mirror, running the wires down the right of the main window (behind trim) and out of the lower right pillar trim- lines up with bottom of dash in the end.
The speaker ended up just to the left of the steering wheel column tilt lever- so they dont foul.
Wiring was easy enough, left and right connections sound like the old owners radio harness.
I used one connector that plugs into the box, ran the wires behind the lower right panel ( bolt on right by door, few screws along top edge) and then under steering column cover- few screws in bottom.
Used the black to a good earth there (under the bolt with the existing one), then had trouble finding a positive for the red wire with the fuse in it.
Took off the glove box (few screws along top open edge) and pulled the centre lower fascia out ( on the carpet) (pop a small round screw driver in lugs either side.).
I tapped into the big fat pos that feeds the cigar lighter, leaving the fuse for the car kit under the steering column cover.
Only wire left was the yellow for the disconnect for the radio, this will need a relay, have a manual for the car kit but not fitted the yellow as Im changing the radio to a UK cd/cdrw /mp3 player.
As for any other wires they were also unused.
      hope that helps a bit

        Thanks guys,

That does really help, all I need now is to get a hold of one of those relays to fit it to the head unit.

Which wires did you use to fit this ? Are they simply two Lives that feed the stereo ?

        http://www.gsmzone.co.uk/Manuals/Nok...ual/inst91.pdf

On the diagram page 7, there are 5 feeds.

-30 goes to car radio power sup. - no problem.
-86 Also to pos feed from car ??
-85 to CRM Yellow wire - no problem
-87a Is this via the ground to radio ?? not sure on that one...
        -87 ? is this left hanging ?

        Many thanks is advance guys.

        Ron.

87a becomes the live feed for the radio.
The original live to the radio is cut and fed into the relay at #30, exiting at #87a and continues on to supply the live to the radio

#86 new positive feed required to enable the relay switch the supply output at terminals 87/87a

#87 is not used in this application, note 4-terminal relays are also available, these will not have #87a and are not suited to this application.
