  • about dins?

Hi, can anyone tell me the difference between single din and double
din?. I tried typing the words into different search engines but didn't
    get a reasonable answer.
Is there a big difference between the two?. I want to replace the rad cass in my surf. It works fine with some good speakers already in place.
    good forum!

        phew! thanx guys
the rad cass has a similar sized gap underneath and under that
has a space that looks like you could put a 'magazine' into like the
old 8track thingy. there appears to be what looks like a laser to read
discs ?. I shall try take a photograph of it and post. Haven't gotten around to figuring uploading of pix. (yet)

The space below is a single DIN size pocket. There is space and brackets on all surfs to fit a double din unit - I've got a double DIN UK spec Sony WX C570R Radio, Tape, CD unit. Also fitted a sterring column remote to it.

          Cheers

If you want to fit a single DIN CD in place of what you have now you can get plastic blanking plates to fill the gap. I used a Celica one from Halfords and it fitted OK. (a bit expensive from Halfords though!!!)
