  • Twin batteries

Hi all. Just a quickie - with twin batteries, do both of them need earthing to the chassis?

My surf loses its charge (pretty new batteries) every time it rains and someone said it could be a "poor earth" what's this, how do I find it and how do I fix it?

    Cheers

Might also be worthwhile getting your alternator checked for output, particularly when it's wet, I had two give up the goose on Gen 1 SSR Ltd's, the first after gunking the engine

I'd recommend Andy at Clwyd Auto Electrical on 01978 762093 (on the A550 between Hope & LLay)

      Yes.

When I did my twin battery upgrade I went slightly overkill and ran three chunky earths from each, - one to engine, one to body, one to chassis.

Everything ran better, felt brighter and sharper. Highly reccommended!

I kept this setup for the V8 swap.
      More Lift.
      More Tyres.
      More Engine.

Great, thank you both. I've had a new alternator last year and that's definitely still working fine, I'll add some extra earth straps after all what's the worst that can happen
