Quick question.(or three)
Drivers door window control panel.
Is this the only thing that controls the up/down of the windows other than the individual window switches?
The other three windows motor up and down and the central locking works via the button.
After fitting the replacement window motor (cheers Vince) all was fine and dandy.
Stripped down the old motor and possibly after a intensive clean up and new brushes it may yet live....
Anyway the motor via the switch powers down ok but the up is erratic.
If you strip the door card off and unplug the motor and dab 12 volt on to the contacts at the connector the window goes up and down.
If you check the resistance from the multi plug at the control unit down to the window motor connector you get about 5-7 ohms, although this would suggest continuity it seems a bit high.
If you dab power down the cable from the multi plug to the window motor it powers up and down.
When the down is operated from the switch with everything connected back up it works.
When up is tried you get voltage across the contacts that are visible when the control unit is stripped of its switches but the motor does not always move.
On the control unit you have the little circuit board underneath.
Is this the circuit that controls the one touch up/down function?
Does this circuit board control anything else?
Can I red neck the switch and board to give simple up down control?
Do I need a new control unit?
