Put your immobiliser fob on a bit of cord, then you won't have to keep taking the keys out!
Most immobilers don't reset that quick, you should get a couple of goes at starting it.
Batteries don't sound overly charged, but hard to tell.4x4toys.co.uk - Keeping you on and off the road...

Did the AA disconnect one of the batteries when testing them?
You'll only get an average of both if not, and can hide a duff one.
Dosn't sound like you're average starter motor issue, they either just click when the contacts go, just spin fastwithout turning engine if the bendix is stuck, or turn slowly or not at all if the motor is stuffed.
The immobiliser isn't normally hard to disconnect, it's normally pretty obvious which ignition wires have been cut when you look behind the dash.4x4toys.co.uk - Keeping you on and off the road...

Most of these guys do not have a clue when dual batteries are involved. Same here with the RACQ. I had battery trouble a while ago and all I wanted was a jumpstart. He tested them but also did it all the wrong way. I am now using the one good battery. The other was dead. His test showed both were bad because they were still connected together. Redid the test myself the right way the next morning.Originally posted by AlexKzn130 View Postno he tested each one in the car i think i recall after the engine running for about a minute each one showed about 13v

Right then, so now we have eliminated the cold or hot start question. The starting issue is random? Yes ?
When the RAC got it to work did they jump start it?
If they jump started it and it turned over did it start ok?
If you have a battery charger, could you leave it on a trickle charge over night and see how it starts the next morning?
Have you checked the battery terminals are nice and clean and not loose and corroded?
Same for the alternator belts are they correctly tensioned?Eat.Sleep.Surf.Repeat.

AA never fixed it, I call them and they took best part of an hour to arrive so I had a coffee in the cafe over the road when they arrived to inspect the problem car started first time and made me look like a fool, the aa guy tested the batts out of good will I'm gonna test my batts today and check all the connections, I'll update accordinglyYes it's a V8, don't you know I'm loco?

Having similar issues with my truck (ln130) went to start it tonight, but slow and dead turnover without firing up. I'll admit it was stood for about two weeks, but even with a boost off my car still no joy. Think I've got the same immobiliser as you, small fob with 3 points on it.Hold my beer and watch this

Checked the terminals, quite greasy but I think they've always been like that checked the batteries myself disconnected from the car there both showing about 12.40v so it's not them :-(Originally posted by shokenore View Post
