The relays on mine (2nd gen) are at the rear on the passenger side behind the panel. When I had the same problem I read one of the relays could be the problem. I replaced the whole unit with one from a breakers (off eBay). I did that rather than try and find which relay was dodgy and then unsolder it. However once replaced I still had the problem. It was only then I investigated the key switch. I put a meter on it. When I turned it one way I got a reading, when turned the other- nothing. I then took it a part and found one side of the tracks was missing ( as my phot showed).

    Good luck with it !!

When I get chance I will check the wiring to the relays.
Is it an easy job to pull the boot lining out or are there hidden screws that need unscrewing?

I have seen on a Ozzie site were someone replaced the relays on the board.

        Hi Steve

It was relatively easy to remove the panel and there are no hidden screws that I can remember. If you go down the route of trying to remove the dodgy relay, there are 5 pins on it to desolder. When doing this make sure they are fully desoldered as there is a danger of tearing the tracks of the circuit board.
