  • 1kzt wiring

Hi all just finished fitting a 1kzt not the-e version complete with manual gearbox into my 2lte automatic, my problem is wiring, i have plugged in conectors from 2lte wiring to 1kzt and manual box that would fit but i cant get power to starter motor or fuel cut solenoid, i am ok with mechanical work for a diy-er but wiring goes as far as a stereo or house plug. Any help advice please. Desperate to get it on and off the road again with the bigger power lump.

You probably need to bridge the P or N connections in the shifter plug to get the starter to work, Fuel Solonoid just needs power from the igntion switch, you won't have a connector or power for that if the old motor was EFI as it dosn't have a Fuel Cut off Solonoid, maybe put it through a relay though.

      1kzt wiring

Cheers TonyN, you will laugh at what i thought was the way, i removed the ecu, cut of the conectors x3 of them, then started joining up the wires that were the same colour thinking that would let me bypass ecu, how do i do a bridge or is it to late now that i butchered the wiring and what relay to use for the solanoid, does wire run from ignition barrell then relay and onto solanoid. Thankyou for puting my mind at ease and my wife now believes it will be on the road again.

To override the shifter lockout you can just take the switch unit off your old auto box and plug it back in to the loom under truck, then find the P or N position and then it should work.

You can wrap the switch up in something and cable tie it out of the way.

Lock the ADD on and fit manual hubs, sorted.

I was also thinking a solid front axle conversion from a hi-lux but it looks a big job, lot of welding and lining up.

Looking at my Haynes manual wiring diagram i understand it a bit better now after the way you explain it. Neutral start switch black wire one side black and white other side bridge these wires ecu will think its in Neutral.
