  • warning lights

hi just a bit of help needed ,kzn185,have read through a few posts regarding this, just can quite pinpoint the same problem...
wife brought surf back this eve she said the t belt light is on the bat light, abs. also another which i think is something to do with the fuel. done a check on the batteries they are showing 12.4 and both of these are quite new.
the lights go out on idle and if i turn the lights or heater on, but if i rev the engine or just idle up they will come back on, done a check on the batteries when idle up its showing 17 + on the metre. any sugestions please

Alternator faulty. It should only be putting out 14.8 volts max.

If its overcharging surely its the regulator that's broken?

          Hi Flyingj,

Have you managed to fix the problem? What was it?

I also have something quite similar. 2 days ago thoses lights went on, but just flashing for half an hour.
Yesterday, they went on for good and don't disappear.

I need to check voltage by running this evening.

          Thanks for infos
