ABS ECU - Speed Sensor wire?

I am installing a field monitor from a breaker and as my surf did not have one, I have followed the thread found at yotatech. Everything went well apart from the speed sensor cable splice.

According to the guys at yotatech, I need to splice into this cable on the ABS ECU:



However, there is no wire in that position on the plug on mine!

Does anyone know which is the correct wire I am looking for?

Either that or perhaps someone has the correct version of the service manual?

Thanks! I had a look through those and also the others that are available at that site, but can't seem to the the pinouts for the ABS ECU.

Do you think the speed sensor reference on the ECT computer would be the same sensor signals that are sent to the ABS ECU?

Yes.
Any of the VSS outputs will work.

Are they actually marked VSS on the diagram? (Presumably for 'Voltage Speed Sensor')

Quite dodgy of Toyota to label it such, because Vss is a generally employed, worldwide term for 'ground' in a FET device, or MOSFET logic... could get smokey

Vehicle Speed Sensor in Toyota's/Lexus' case.

For anyone else who stumbles across this if you don't have the wire on the abs ECU you can find it on the back of the speedo, grey and blue. Hope this helps
