I'm mooching around the interwebs for alternatives to the National Luna split-charge system + Dual Battery Controller, which I was quoted £230 with delivery.
It seems there are plenty of alternatives used by the boating and caravan fraternity that seem to do exactly the same thing but for a fraction of the price. Does anyone have any experience, tips, advice on the following...
The VSR by BEP Marine which are apparently used in fire engines, ambulances, etc.

and the Sterling Split chargers, that are popular with caravanners.

These systems don't come with the fancy battery monitors but I'm sure I could find an alternative to those at a fraction of the price as well.
We'll be powering a fridge, charging laptops, cameras, phones, etc and running a few LED lights from the extra battery.
Any advice and tips welcome.
