Tailgate window motor repair

So my window motor packed up a few weeks ago, and i cant afford to replace it right now so my dad has attempted to repair it. Hes discovered that the brushes are knackered and need replacing. The only problem is we've tried looking for these brushes and cant find a supplier anywhere. Weve phoned a bunch of local electrical dealers and they say that i wont be able to find them anywhere as they are so old! But im hoping you guys might be able to point me in the right direction!
