I just bought a 91 surf 2.4 td , the guy i bought it from told me the electric windows dont work.
Today i tried to find out what the problem was and have found that a wire has melted from the control panel on the door right back to the fusebox thats under the driver side foot well where the block connector is, i thought that maybe i could have just replaced that wire with a new one but the wire is also melted from the connector back further but i cant see how much further it goes as it goes up under the dash i think and i dont really want to take all that off as i am not very sure about this type of thing and id probably mess it up.
Can anyone tell me where these wires go to from that fuse box? do they go up through the dash and into the engine compartment or somewhere else?
Is there any wiring diagrams or wiring route maps available online?
Any idea what might have caused the wire to melt in the first place?
