Would a Prado KZJ78 ECU work in a 3rd gen surf kzn185?

The 70 series Prado with the KZ-TE engine same as the KZN185, both autos.

The ECU number on the Prado is 89661-60250 ....175800-1294 12V
The ECU number on the KZN185 89661-3D240 ....175800-1611 12V

Both have 26/16/22 pin connectors.

Anyone tried swapping these before?

No practical experience, but not a wild 'no' either.

The fact it's a different part number and from different model of vehicle, leads me to the conclusion that it won't work.

That said, feel free to try it. I'd be happy to be proven wrong (again) if this inter-changeability helps someone out in the future.
