ignition barrel/steering lock

My only key snapped in the tailgate the other day having just tugged a boat out of the water I was stuck on the top of the slipway.

Anyways, having tried to retrieve the key out of the lock with no success I proceeded to mash up the barrel with a screwdriver to try and shift the truck..pressure of turning tides etc and people wanting to use the slipway.! It didnt work, we managed to drag it out of the way a little and i sat and waited 2hrs for the AA to recover me. In hindsight, i know thats probably what I should of done initially..but hindsight is a marvellous thing.

So, nitty-gritty, I need to replace the barrel & maybe steering lock assembly. Anyone got any tips.?

The key has a 3 digit number on it, Is this the code for getting a new one cut.? If I can, that would save changing the door locks.

i have a couple of barrels and keys here if you want one.The ignition barrel is a 30 second job to take out and replace.
If it means using a screwdriver in the ignition barrel to turn the ignition then do it.
First take the steering cowl off
Look under the ignition barrel and you will see a small hole.Useing something to prsee the little button inside turn the ignition and pull out the barrel and replace with the new one

sweet, I'll go investigate in a while. I know i've knocked off the rotary switch behind the barrel, jus hope that can be reassembled
