  • Intereior light (rear)

I'm having a bit of trouble getting my rear interior light to work when i open the back door on my Gen 3. The light comes on when you switch it on inside. & the light on the dash comes on if the spare wheel carrier is not closed properly. But the light has the word 'door' written on it & i figured it should come on when you remove the wheel carrier???
If it is a switch problem in the door is it easy to get the rear trim panel off only the switch looks like its riveted into the door!

    Will.

    Eh??

With the switch in the 'DOOR' position, the light comes on when you open the tailgate.

Thats the thing.... When the switch is set to 'door' the light doesn't come on?

And when you say 'tailgate' you mean spare wheel carrier as there is no door switch other than the one on the gate that the carrier operates!

The spare wheel carrier is a spare wheel carrier!

The switch thats incorporated into the door latch could be dirty, you'll need to remove the inner tailgate panel to investigate.

Go to go now, the bronze bushes have arrived.

Your a funny Guy!!! I wasnt aware there was a switch built into the door latch... Figuring that when you swing the spare wheel carrier off the tailgate this puts the door light logo on on the dash I'd concluded this switch should make the rear light come on?!!

It dosn't, you also have a door open light on dash, ironically, for a door thats open. The light your seeing is telling you the spare wheel carrier isn't shut properly, which is right because thats what your doing....

Bushwacker isn't funny, never has been.... But he was 100% right!

Agreed. That is what it does! I never said it didnt!! I thought that maybe it also activates the interior light as well...

So where is the switch that activates the rear interior light then???

So once you have removed the latch how do you go about getting into it to clean this switch that you guys tell me operates the interior light???

You seem to have the kind of shitty attitude thats caused this forum to go stale. It also seems you want it all on a plate and you haven't even subscribed!!!

try using a few smilies, its hard to convey you're tone of voice or how you're feeling just typing on a screen, your reply looked a little arsey, a or or whatever lets people get comments in context.
