Lights, camera (.?), Overdrive..

This is an odd one..

I was on the dual carriageway recently..pottering along doing close to 70 @ around 2500rpm. It got a bit gloomy so i flicked the sidelights on and the revs jumped up a few 100rpm, turn them off and back down to previous.?

I then experimented with the overdrive at the same speed and the revs increased around 500rpm upto 3000ish..so it looks driving with the lights on gives me 1/2 overdrive..lol

Just to note, at lower speeds the lights make no difference to running.


ahhh..just thought, maybe i should of tested the 'extra power' button..could be linked to that.?

Sounds like an earthing issue....the extra few amps the sidelights are drawing is causing a voltage drop somewhere.
as a guess, check both battery connections remake etc...
