Clock and cig lighter

Hi folks forgive me if this is a daft question but.....

My clock, cig lighter and interior lights don't appear to be working anymore, the clock seemed to stop working when I removed the dash to fit a stereo a few weeks back but the interior light hasn't worked since I got the truck. I found the wee fuse box in the drivers side foot-well and noticed the fuse had blown, I changed it for a new one but it also blew (I even tried a higher rated fuse but still no joy)
If i'm honest I don't really need the clock but i'd like to get the cig lighter and the interior lights working.

So actually I have two questions.

1) What do I need to do to get the lighter operational
2) Without having to take them all out to check them, Which fuse do I need to check for the interior lights? (I have had a wee look at all the fuses but can't really make head nor tail of it all)

I have used the search facility for this but can't find anything helpful.

Try replacing the fuse with a bit if brass bar, then if you smell smoke you know you have a short circuit somewhere in the wiring...

I wired my cig lighter direct to batt (with inline fuse) so don't need the ignition on to make things work.

Very useful when camping in truck.

Thanks guys, i'll have a look see in the morning. Tony how tricky is your option and which battery would I connect it to. Also that reminds me, if i need to give someone a jump start which battery should I use or does it not really matter?

The batteries are connected together, so it doesn't matter which one you choose (same with jump starting). It makes it neater if you run all accessories of the same battery, but it's personal choice.

With regards to which fuse, if you pull of the cover in the kick panel there is a diagram on the back which will tell you the placement of the fuses.

I may be a bit mad, but when that fuse blows the glow plug lamp on the dash goes to and I think that circuit is tied into the glow plug circuit somehow. Mine was a pig to start until i found it. get it fixed ASAP. The fuse as stated earlier is Drivers side footwell a little plastic door on the RHS,

first off mate why didyou take the dash apart? does the sterio still work? you may have just pinched a wire when putting it all back together. i would take it a partand have a good look at what you have done.
