Hello everyone! Can anyone tell me the spec for correct batteries in my L reg, 3.0 Surf, kzn130 please? I'm sure the ones i have are wrong, they rattle around hehe. Do they have individual jobs or do they just work as one?
How cool are these trucks though!!? Must get a pic of mine posted... Proud..very proud..very very proud.

Have a look in the list in Halfords, one of them is stocked - the drivers side one, the other is a special order one. Alternatively you can take the spec and go to another place to get them.

They are wired in parallel so work as one high capacity 12V battery.

    Cheers

      Batteries

You dont really need two battieries if you have one that is of decent AMP HR. I replaced my 2 dead batteries with one of decent amp hr and then fitted a dual charge relay to a second battery to use for all my toys, (Flashing lights, Spot lights, TV, Fridge etc,) that way if the second battery goes flat the car still starts and I dont have to worry about charging it because it recharges as soon as i start the car

Yep that's a good mod. Need at least 700CCA on the starter battery though and a split charge system if you are going to run one starter and one leisure battery. Optima Red top is good for the starter, Yellow top for the Leisure Battery (deep Cycle).

These Varta batteries have the correct dimensions for the Surf and are powerful enough. I think some Surfs came with slightly smaller (dimensions & capacity) batteries tho.

If they are rattling around then check to see if they are Optima's. They are smaller than your standard type battery but are the dogs danglies - and very expensive!

            Rich.
