  • Dash Warning Lights Not Working.

On my 93 2.4 surf non of the dash lights are working bar the glow plug and hand brake lights.

What could be the reason for this?

Sounds fuse related to me, have you checked them all in both fuse boxes?
If its not broke don't fix it.

Didn't realise the lamps had all gone out at the same time, you didn't say.

The fuse boxes are both on the Off Side, one in the footwell under a flap, the other on the inner wing.

Could it be a fuse issue then with them all going out at once?

If I remember correctly the dash ilumination is on the same fuse as the side lights, whereas the front headlights are on a seperate fuse. So if your sidelights aren't working I'd start with the fuses.

Your tail lights are also on the sidelight fuse, so it's worth checking sooner than latter.

Sorry i think i should of explained abit better then i actually did. Its not the dash illlumination lights that have gone out its the Oil,T-belt,Battery etc etc lights that have all gone out at once.

I've checked all the fuse's and they are fine. What i have noticed though there used to be a "beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep" after i left the ignition on for a few seconds, well that dosnt happen any more.

I need to get this surf sorted.

This could be completely wrong, but I think I've read sometime in the past, that a faulty alternator can cause problems with those lights. Might be worth checking the output across the battery terminals.

It had a 2nd hand alternator fitted about 2 months ago. Normally the warning lights come on when the alternator if faulty and giving charge i think.
