electric fault

Hi All i have a 3.0ltr kzn130 surf, it suddenly has a electric problem.
when starting the battery light, T,belt light, AT,temp all go out, but if the revs drop below 1,000 they come back on again.
the vehicle got covered in dust all weekend on the rally stage at festival of speed, so i dont know if this has anything to do with this.

hello mate, it sounds like your alternator is FUBAR, however you may be able to recon it, somone with more info will be along soon

Are the belts tight?

Just wondering, as fine coat of dust on belt / pully's could be letting them slip.
