Just noticed that the arial doesn't retract/expand when the engine is powered on/off. It sounds like the motor is working ok so i'm guessing the fault lies with some sort of connection problem to the aerial itself - any suggestions?

It's knackered, get a replacement from one of the breakers.Do you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's

anyhoo, it will be the plastic toothed rod that goes from motor drive wheel to the aerial tip, just get the inner wing plastic out from arch, undo the motor assembly (undo the nut round aerial on wing first, wee silver thing with notches for putting a flat blade screwdriver in) and bring out the whole assembly but not too far, the aerial wire to stereo is still attached.
You should have enough free play in coax cable to strip and investigate problem with assembly.Alan

Aeriel arrived and tried to fit it, but now i think i've knacked the motor too as the white plastic that has the teeth on it seems to have jammed up the motor completely, so now i don't even hear the motor trying to work when i turn engine off/on....bu**er.
Did everything as per instruction and at first it worked, but after a couple of times of testing it, it grated then stopped trying all together.
Anyone know how much it would cost to get someone to replace the whole thing?
