      Chassis. I'd go with Charvell's suggestion initially and check all of the earth bonding straps. They can be the cause of unusual problems if any of them are making poor contact, and there are only several to check.

            hi matey, wifey had a similar problem on her "cough cough" Pajero.

            They're prone to it an on there it was caused by air getting into the fuel pump past an 'O' ring on a shaft that gets worn. cost £400 to have it put right but its been ok since then.

            Hers started to do it occasionally but as time wore on it got more an more frequent until it happened on a daily basis.
