i've got a gen 3 3l td. i stripped the centre console, and removed the sony headunit that was in the truck, leaving the toyota to ISO connector in place.
plugged in my pioneer head unit, and it worked fine.
the problem is this:-
switch off ignition and remove key.
re-insert key and switch ignition back on.
the stored info in the head unit has gone.
so i worked out ,it is the radio needs a permanent live feed to remain info. FAIR ENOUGH. because the head unit is a 4 x 60w, am i better off running a live direct from the battery, or continue running it thro' the standard harness.
i read somewhere that the wiring may not be able to cope with the drain from modern headunits, is this true?
any help would be appreciated.
cheers m
