  • Replacement Remote Locking Fob

Whats the best way to replace this fob. It's from my 2nd Gen 1994.

The internals are fine as I repaired the micro switch buttons but the case is fubbed. Is this type the same as a 4runner? Anyone else with this type as it appears to be genuine Toyota?

Can I order the case only? If I can get a whole new fob (would be useful) can I programme it myself?

There appears to be little information on this one. I really don't want to replace with an aftermarket job and do the wiring but if that is the only option then someone tell me. Looks like an upside down corolla one?

Anyone breaking a surf with this type fob? Any ideas?
    Thanks

Yes that is useful. Must be a genuine toyota jobby.

Just found the thread Thieving dealers

Fobs are £64+VAT for a 4runner and cost more on top to programme?

Calling 4runner owners; does your fob look like my fob?

Anyone ordered a fob for an import surf through a UK dealer?

Have they supplied you with a new case for a surf fob?

Do they sell surf compatible fobs?

Anyone tried programming a fob from another toyota vehicle as there are loads of those around on ebay?

nope, they're just a good bunch of guys, local to me and they stock fobs for most vehicles, my mate used to work with the owner before they both left the company they then worked for and each started their own businesses

Have been told you can't clone surf fobs like some other vehicles and it's a dealer only job. Specialist said £64+VAT is a steal.

Although also noted In the UK fobs will be 433 mhz but imports may be 315 mhz.....
